This is a compilation of projects I created during a 2-week Exploration of Architecture Summer Program I joined at USC.
This is a series of photos I took during a tour of LA's architectural sites, featuring an overlap of geometric lines between an art installation and LAPD building. Using a worm's eye view to capture this series of photos, I was able to highlight the convergence of geometric lines that show architectural form and experimented with inverse colors.

Value Planes
For my first project, I explored the interrelationship between 3D and 2D value by creating a model of a photograph that I took. This image documents the step-by-step process of the model I made from a photograph of the LAPD building.

Fields of Play
In the text project, I was challenged to capture movement through three-dimensional forms. I experimented with cardboard to create various shapes and forms concentrating on the theme of "fields of play". Then, I digitally rendered my designs using the computer program Rhino.

Playground Tunnel
In my exploration of 3D forms, I designed was a tunnel for a children's playground, using the curvature of a sliding movement as a source of inspiration. The rungs of the playground vary in height interchangeably. The process of creating this piece pushed the boundaries of my imagination, and also allowed me to hone basic technical skills for creating 3D models.

Nautilus
This stairway was inspired by the spiral shape of a nautilus shell. It repeats a curved shape in different sizes to imitate the spiral form of the shell. My intention was for occupants to step up and down the various layers of the structure like a spiral stairway.

Spatial Frontier
This playground was my culminating project, concentrating on the interrelationship between people and their built environments. The structure uses a balance of organic and geometric forms to create the illusion of a twisting motion. My main intention for this design was to create an engaging experience for visitors by gauging the speed and directions at which they walk. For instance, one might meander around the organic curves or stride quickly along the geometric edges as they move through this space.
